history / Othon FEY expanded the company

Born in 1930 in Gersheim (Germany), Othon Fey (1930-2009) began working in his father’s company at the age of twelve and, in 1944, he began an apprenticeship as a roofer and bathroom fitter.

Once he had qualified as a journeyman and a master tinsmith, he continued to work in the same areas of business as his father and the company enjoyed an amazing boom.

He then developed sheet metalworking, with the industrial production of stove pipes and ventilation systems.

When, in 1966, Othon officially took over the reins from his father as head of the company, he abandoned the building sector and launched the industrial fabrication of tubes and pipes, especially for the heating industry.

Heavy investment was required in machinery and, in 1975, the construction of a 1,700 sq. metre factory in the brand new industrial estate in Rémelfing became essential.

The family business from Moselle-Est gradually won itself a place as an outsourcer for a market that now covered the entire East of France.
